Ahhh heee heee hooooo! "Beat it" "Beat it!"

I think this is one death that should actually be celebrated.

He is still a person and the fact that there are two comments so rude shows your character. It is not your place to judge him, there is only one that will do that. He has a family that will miss him so show some respect or like your mom always taught, "If you can't say anything nice, just keep your big fat rude mouth closed."

one less child molester for me to worry about

I think it's sad. He's an icon, no one can deny him of that.

I really liked him as an entertainer and think it's sad. :(

This is 4:47 again. 5:20, I wasn't being rude. I was just making the Michael Jackson noises and singing his song. I think you are the one that was doing the judging. I liked his music. I was just singing in tribute to him, you self-righteous, judgmental devil!

The man is a legend, and that fact is solidified now that he's passed on, especially so young (well, young-ish...50). I think his life's work should be remembered and celebrated (unless you don't like his music), and we should let the rest of the crap fade into history.

4:47, you are awesome! Ha ha!

He was very talented and iconic in his career. It is sad that three young children just lost their dad.
I have great memories that include his songs.

I am a GIANT FAN. He is a legend why are you people being so rude? I have been a fan of Michael Jackson since before I can remember and my parents were fans before that. I am completely devastated and I am NOT afraid to admit it.
He was an INCREDIBLE entertainer and a gifted man who helped thousands of people. I don't care that he turned into a weirdo. It happens to the best of us...the man sold out 50 concerts in just MINUTES in March. Tell me he is not still one of the most famous men in the world..

I am really pretty sad about his death, and YES, right now I am cleaning my house to the beautiful tunes of Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I'm really pretty heartbroken :)

I'm really sad that he is gone, I think he was an amazing entertainer. As far as the child molesting, well, I guess we'll never know for certain. IF he did it, I think he is answering for it now so we don't need to worry. If not, then he is at peace. Either way that doesn't negate the fact that his music was my most favorite when I was a child of the 80's

I realize he's iconic, but I'm not a Michael Jackson fan. To me, he was just creepy and strange. And a pedophile. I won't be missing him.

Its' funny how we let the media shape our impressions. He was acquitted of any child molestation charges - which I think means he was found innocent.

Anyone who says otherwise doesn't have anything to stand on.

and just to add to 9:29..yes, he did settle one case. But just because he settled the first one for millions of dollars, doesn't mean he was guilty. Often times, cases are settled because going through a long drawn out litigation will cost more money, time, and really be detrimental to all parties involved.

Since the cardiologist is missing and there are drug interaction issues at stake, I really think MJ wanted to go out with a bang at 50 and had the doc give him some drugs to do it.

Everyone knows how wealthy he was (then). I'm pretty sure the people who filed charges were just looking for a deep pocket to stick their greedy little fingers into.

11:37 I doubt that. He just put LOADS of money into his 50-show concert series in London that was meant to start next month. I think if he wanted to go out with a bang, he'd have waited until he had toured again for the first time in a decade, gain some of his hype and good reputation as the King of Pop back...then kick the bucket.

Sad for his loved ones, but good riddance for the rest of us, or at least anyone with a child who may possibly be around him and put in danger. No, none of us know for sure what did or didn't happen, but if some guy has been accused over and over again of child molestation, you can bet my kid's not going to be the one having sleepovers at his child-themed, amusement-park-style residence. Regardless of actual guilt, nobody can deny that this guy LOVED hanging out with young boys, and that is not appropriate in this day and age.

God bless his family. It just show you that money and fame don't give you eveything.

I am truly shocked and sad. My parents were like, "Yeah, he's gone, but he's basically been gone for the last 15 years." But, as a 24 year old, he was THE pop icon of my generation! And I adore his music, both 80s and 90s. He was incredibly talented and one of the most famous people in the entire world. An era has ended!
That being said, death comes to all of us and he's no exception. Whether he molested those boys or not, we'll never know, but the South Park episode about him (from like 4 seasons ago) made a very good observation about him: he didn't get a childhood and so he was trying to have on as an adult (even though he needed to an adult and take care of his kids). He should really be pitied. And celebrated for his incredible talent we used to see back in the day! I'm gonna go listen to "Thriller" now...

I love you Peaches :)

I love MJ too.

I honestly dont like the guy...the child molesting part is the main reason i dont like him...that and he got caught up in drugs and plastic surgery like no other. What bothers me most about the whole ordeal, is people are trying to compare him to Elvis Presley. There is NO WAY that MJ is or will ever be as good as Presley. Even though i dont like him, i respect him as a person. He did do some good things in his life, that are never shared, and like others have said its not our place to judge him. Just let the man rest in peace

As an entertainer, Michael Jackson surpassed Elvis. He was a better dancer and singer. They're both great, but Jackson passed him.

And as far as child molesters go, Elvis' child bride was what, 13, when she moved in with him? That was a fact. The charges against Michael have never been proven, just alleged.

8:44 pm: Good point about child brides. Michael Jackson had two accuse him but there was no proof and in one case even the mother of the accuser said MJ was innocent. Other people do have proof against them (like Joseph Smith marrying Helen Mar Kimball at 14 years old) and people don't call them pedophiles.

2:18, I just think you are trying to start a religious argument with your comment. Don't bring that kind of stuff into a post that has nothing to do with it.

Anonymous said...

It's interesting that people judge Michael Jackson on unproven charges but do not judge Joseph Smith on things that are proven facts. This has nothing to do with the fact that Joseph was religious because Michael was too and, at least for some time, I believe Elvis was too. No one is attacking their religions.

oh brother. back to michael jackson please...

he was never found guilty. bottom line.

As far as fame and money goes, yes, Michael Jackson may have been bigger than Elvis Presley. Who cares? They were both incredible entertainers (um, King of Rock & Roll, King of Pop)...and both of their deaths are extremely tragic.

8:58 pm: By "he was never found guilty" you are refering to MJ, right?

Anonymous said...

yes.
