I have had an IUD for the last 2 1/1 years. I had it taken out June 1st of this year so my husband and I could try for another baby. I bled for about 2 weeks after I had it taken out (which the doctor said was normal). I haven't had a period or bled at all since then. Its now been a month and a half. I've taken pregnancy tests and they always come out negative. My question is: Shouldn't I either have a period or have a positive pregnancy test by now? Its a bit frustrating either way right now.
What do you think I should do? Call my doctor and ask? Wait it out and see? ( I don't really have the patience for that)
Thanks!

You can't possibly be pregnant unless you've ovulated, and it's very possible that you haven't ovulated yet if it's only been six weeks since you took the IUD out. Sit back and wait a little while and things will eventually start to work as normal.
I never get a period ever and I have been pregnant a few times. a couple miscarriages and Two beautiful kids later I still don't get a period. I have PCOS (polycysitc ovarian syndrome). Make an appointment with the doctor.
O.P. here,
I had a period the month before and according to my cycle the 2 weeks I bled could have been my period. Which means I would have ovulated. Make sense?
It could still be a little too early to show up on a pregnancy test, especially if you ovulated late.
I'm with Benjamin. Just relax and wait for a bit (I know that's hard!). Try a test again in a week or two.
Also, just because you bleed doesn't mean that it's a typical (or ovulatory) period. You can bleed without having a "normal" cycle.
I don't think you're pregnant. There's a small chance, but I doubt it. If it were me, I'd still call my doc just for peace of mind. Good luck!
My IUD really messed me up. I'm thinking it's probably negative.
I can't figure out why you're worrying about it. It hasn't even been a month since you last bled. Have some freaking patience - you do know that the average time it takes to get pregnant is 6-12 months, right? Sorry to be so snappy - it just seems like there's someone on here once a week whining about not getting pregnant two hours after they went off of birth control. I could see you asking if you took out your IUD and didn't have a period for four months, but it's been four weeks! Relax.
O.P-
With my first baby I got pregnant on birth control. Four weeks after I found out I was pregnant. And I'm more worried because there is a history in my family of not being able to conceive after one or two pregnancies.
I called my doctor and he said that if I don't have a period in the next 4 weeks he's going to put my on a medication that helps regulate your cycles so we can actually get pregnant. Thanks all.
As for not being able to conceive after one or two pregnancies, I wouldn't worry too strongly about infertility just yet. As has been mentioned, you're barely off the IUD. Most fertility clinics won't treat a patient unless you've been unsuccessfully trying to conceive for a full year.
