Breaking Point...

For those of you that have gotten a divorce, what was your breaking point? When did you know? I find myself a happier person when my husband is not around. I act completely different when he is at home. I have thought to myself can I imagine not waking up to him every morning. At first the answer was no, Now I can half of the time. Friends of mine have done the Love Dare. Have any of you? And if so, did it work for your marriage? I am open to almost anything.

We are both 29 and have been together for 13 years married for 10. We have 2 beautiful kids. In the past he had cheated. I forgave him, but it is really hard to forget. As the years go by I still think about it. I just think to my self I am done. Any thought or help would be appreciated.

BTW- I am not LDS. I am a Christian and go to church.

First Time Home Buyer

We are looking at buying our first home. We really don't know much at all about buying a house but we feel like now would be a good time to take advantage of the housing market and the stimulus money the government is giving out. We talked to a loan officer and he said that we would qualify for an RDA loan. Does anyone have any information about RDA loans? He also said that the interest rate will depend on the bank. I'm curious, do we need to go through a third party company to apply for a loan, or is it better to apply through the actual bank? He also told us that if we "close" in October (which is what we would be shooting for), we wouldn't have to make our first mortgage payment until December. Is that right? He also told us that we wouldn't have any closing costs, because with the way the market is right now, the seller pays all closing costs (which he said included paying him and a real estate agent, etc.) We haven't applied for a loan yet but we think we would only qualify for about $130,000. He said our mortgage payment would only be around $750 (rough estimate). We don't have a down payment at all, but we also don't have any debt. Our income is about $2,400 a month.
Ugh....I just feel totally confused and overwhelmed by all of this stuff. HELP please!!!

Etsy

Do any of you have any experience buying or selling things on Etsy? Was it a positive or negative experience? I have considering doing both and was wondering how successful it is.

Cradle Cap

Any ideas on what to do to get rid of cradle cap on my 2 month old? Thanks!

1st Trimester bleeding

So I found out last week that I was pregnant. (Like everyone else it seems). I started bleeding this past Monday. I am lucky enough to work at my Dr.'s office so I went to him right away. Because I am not going through a pad every hour and I am not having really bad cramps there is a good chance that it is not a miscarriage. However we wont know until next week when I am 6 weeks. That is the earliest that I am able to have an ultrasound since they wouldn't be able to really see or hear anything until then.

The Dr. is saying that it could be implantation bleeding and that can be common during your first trimester. I am curious to see how common this really is. So far from friends conversations it happens more then I thought.

So my question is: How many of you have had bleeding during your first trimester? Did you end up having a miscarriage? Was everything ok?

I am not asking if I should go to my Dr. and be worried ( I have already done that). I just want to see how common it is. Thanks!

Update:

Hi Everyone!
I don't know if anyone remembers me from THIS small post. But to those who kindly commented I just wanted to say that I'm finally expecting! Yay! It's too early to tell friends, etc, but I'm so excited that I thought I would share the news with you. So thanks! Also, I would love to hear updates on some of the other posts...how did things work out?

Where to buy a tire?

I have a walking/running stroller and one of the tires is ruined. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one? I have no idea! Thanks!

Ideas Please!

I need suggestions of fun, free (or VERY cheap) things to do in the Salt Lake area for the next few days. We don't have much money but we need to find some fun things to do. Suggestions please!

Tell Me About Your Student Loans

So my husband only has one year of school left and so far we haven't taken any student loans. We're going to have to this year though. Just wondering what your experiences are with them. Are there certain lenders that are better? What about different kinds of loans? Did they work out well for you? We are totally inexperienced, so any info will help. Thanks so much!

Penis Size Question...

I have not been with many men other than my husband. Recently out of curiousity i measured his erect penis and it was 6.5 inches long and 6 inches around at its base. Because i don't have really much to compare it to, is the length and girth big, average or small? Ultimately it doesn't matter, again i am just more curious to hear what others think or know.

Personal Question...

How many of your husbands have earned their "red wings"?

Savings

The budget question got me wondering about all of your savings. How much money do you guys typically put into savings each month? We usually have between $3000 & $3200 left over each month for savings. Even when we were making less money we always made sure we had enough to throw some in savings each month, even if that meant no cable, no eating out, no Netflix, etc.

Nothing to Compare it to

I have been married for about three years and my husband and I have a pretty good love life. My question is whenever we have sex he will only 'last' for very long before he's done. This is almost every time no matter if we keep the foreplay to a minimum or he tries to think of other things to try to make it last. Is this normal? I thought it would get better with time but it has been almost three year? Any suggestions? It is definitely not like the movies!

Masturbation

My wife is going to visit her parents for 10 days, I have to stay and work. I think I should be able to masturbate once or twice during this time to relieve the urge. She doesn't think I should. What do you do when you are separated from your spouse for a long period of time? Is masturbation ok if your spouse is aware of it?

Odd pregnancy question

I am 29 weeks pregnant and have had a pain underneath my right breast, (where the under wire for my bra sits on my chest) for quite a while. It is getting worse. It is like a knot in the muscle, it is really hard to describe, it is a tightness and sharpness there. I have done everything I can think of and nothing helps. This last week it has been hurting just to breathe. I am curious if anyone else has ever experienced this and what they found to make it better, or if this is something I should be concerned about and talk to my doctor.

Bumpers

Are "bumpers" for cribs required? I am expecting my first and trying really hard to keep expenses to a minimum. I have a fitted sheet and blankets, but was wondering if bumpers are for safety or for "looks." Any thoughts?

Budgeting

Answer these questions for me...

5. Entertainment
6. House Payment
7. Clothes

Bankruptcy Question

Does anyone know anything about bankruptcy? A close friend told me that you can file chapter 7 and keep up to $80 thousand in assets. We are going to look a bankruptcy lawyer this week. I just do not know what to ask or what all is available. Any advice would help.

Blurb Question

I'm in the process of slurping my blog into a book through blurb booksmart. There are a few posts where I had pictures AND a video. Obviously I can't include videos in the book, so I'm wondering if there is any way to edit them out of the book WITHOUT deleting them from my blog. HELP!

My husband's friend

Is it crossing the line to ask your husband to not hang out with one of his friends anymore? My husband has a friend, that he met through work 4 months ago and I really do not like his influence on my husband. His single lifestyle my work for him, but I just don't believe it works for my husband who's married with a small child at home. He keeps inviting him to strip clubs, which I don't approve of. My husband said he's never gone with him, but it's hard to trust him because of something that happened in our recent past. They go out for drinks after work a couple times a week and my husband doesn't tell me unless I some how find out. Like I taste alcohol on his breath or there's a charge on our account from a bar. My husband mentioned how this friend sleeps at work (during work hours) in the past, and now my husband does it too.

I just don't feel right about their friendship. What would you do?

Pregnant

I know everyone is probably sick of the pregnancy questions, but here's one more.

How far along were you when you announced it? It's killing me not telling people but I want to wait until my first appointment.

Got Milk?

This is regarding nursing.

1.) Would you ever ask a fellow Mom who was nursing their baby for milk (pumped) for your baby (the mother does not produce milk)? Would you ask them to do it on a regular basis?

2.) Would you provide milk for a child that is not yours on a regular basis if you were able?

Mirena

I think this question may have been asked awhile ago but I can't find it. I just had a Mirena IUD inserted today. I've been cramping pretty badly all day so I went online to see if other people had experienced such cramping (the pamphlet said it should only last for 30 mins). I found that A LOT of women complained of weight gain, like 10-30 lbs. I'm worried because the info from Mirena says that weight gain is a fairly uncommon side effect. My questions are:

To those of you who have Mirena, do you like it? How long have you had it? Did you gain weight or notice any other negative side effects? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Lots of questions. Any feedback would be great. Thanks :D

Naps: Adults

Do any of you take naps durng the day? If so, do you take a nap at a certain time? I'm VERY busy with a full time job and a little girl and a couple church callings and people are always calling my husband and I for help in the evening. I'm usually exhausted and have debated taking a 1 hour nap every day so I can actually get caught up on my sleep. Do any of you do this?

Does anyone know where to find the best deals on a cruise?? Thanks much!

Display art withOUT nails?

Hey everyone,

I need to know if any of you have suggestions for how to hang art without using nails or putting holes in a wall. Kind of a silly question, I know, but I need to display several pieces of art this next weekend (of various size and weight) and I can't put ANY holes in the wall. My first thought was Hercules Hooks, but they still make a hole, so those are out.

Thanks!

"Good Girl" Syndrome

First off, thanks to everyone who gave me advice on my "No Sex Drive" post that's a few posts down. One of the comments nailed it head on. I have "Good Girl" syndrome when it comes to sex. I'm afraid to do anything sexually crazy, and I think that it directly affects my sex drive. They said "Unleash" your inner nympho (lol) AWESOME!!!... how?

Aunt and Uncle "In-Laws"

My husband's brother and wife just had a baby. My husband and I grew up in 2 different ideas when it comes to Aunts and Uncles. I grew up with Aunts and Uncles (non-blood) who cared more about their own blood nieces and nephews then us. So now when I am at the age to become an Aunt, I am stuck in that mind set.

My husband considers all his Aunts and Uncles( blood and not) just the same, and has a relationship with them all.

Am I the only one who grew up with the whole "Aunt -in law" "Uncle-in law" mentality?

Any thoughts??

What is the craziest thing you've ever done?

Once, I gave a blow job to my husband in the middle of the night on our college campus (Relax, it wasn't BYU.). Not that crazy, but crazy-ish for my vanilla life.
How about you?

Let's talk about bikini waxing, shall we?

I want a bikini wax. I am in the SLC area and need a recommendation for where to go, and any tips for how to deal with it. I have heard it's better if you take an ibuprofen. Anything else? What kind is best? I want a full Brazillian, but YIKES! OUCH! Getting that close to the business area seems like it would hurt even more! Okay, your turn. Comment away!

Worth Getting?

My husband told me about "Sure cuts Alot" found on www.craftedge.com. Has anyone heard of this program? It is made for Cricut. I guess the program makes it so you have every font imaginable without having a cartridge and you can also cut out your own designs that you make. If anyone has heard of it or has it, is it worth getting?

Cell phone age?

How old are your kids when they get their first cell phone? My soon-to-be 4th Grader keeps asking for one, and truthfully I did see kids in his class last year with them, but I just think that's a little silly. Am I being dumb? What age is acceptable?

IKEA Furniture

Ever since we got an IKEA in our town, everyone seems to have gone nuts for it. I'll admit, I bought into the hype at first, but it soon faded after I watched the bookshelves, Poang chair and couch from there quickly fall apart. I dunno, they just kinda suck. We put everything together according to instructions, it was all good for a while, and then it just keeps getting loose and we have to continually tighten it all back up. The backs came off the back of both my bookshelves. The couch cushions suck. UGH! I just think IKEA furniture is kinda crappy. What do you guys think?

MJ's Funeral Costs

Do you think its fair that the City of Los Angeles used taxpayer dollars to pay for the extravagant funeral of Michael Jackson? His casket alone was $25,000!

Nail Biter

My 8-year old daughter is a nail biter. She gets them all the way down until there is literally nothing there. Sometimes she even makes herself bleed. I am not sure what to do to help her break this habit. I have never been a nail biter so I don't understand the habit. Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, tricks, etc... to help her stop this?

Work from home???

I thought that there was a few posts about this, but I couldn't find them. I have a three year old and am 28 weeks pregnant with twins, my husband is unemployed and has been struggling to find a job. I started a job in June and just got fired for attendance, I had the flu and then some tardies from doctor appointments-but that is another story.
I am wondering if any one has any successfull work from home ideas. I have no money to invest or start a company. I need a legit company that I can work from home for. Any way I can make even a few extra hundred dollars a month will be great. Thanks to everyone, any advice will be appreciated.

First Time Car Loan

My husband and I recently graduated college and both have cars that our parents sent us to college with. We are looking to get a family vehicle, but are having a tough time getting approved for a loan. We have excellent credit, but they are denying our applications because of "insufficient auto loan history". How in the heck are you supposed to get 'auto loan history' if nobody will give you a loan for one in the first place??? It makes no sense to me... Advice?

Hair Help!

I really want to find a new hairstylist. Does anyone know if there is somewhere online to find reviews, etc? I live in the Sandy/West Jordan, UT area. If any of you have any recommendations that would be wonderful as well. I'm on a budget but I need someone good at color.

Prenatal class

Did you take a prenatal class? Did you like it? Were you glad you did?

I'm debating if I should or not, this is my first pregnancy. It's $60 bucks at IHC (I live in Utah County) and to be honest, I'm not sure I have the money to do it if its not a big deal. Any ideas? Any other places besides the hospital that offers these types of classes? Also, did anyone take infant CPR/First aid? Where at?

What to do?

My daughter is almost five years old. We have encountered the usual discipline problems, and none of them have really stumped me until now. I am absolutely at a loss as to what to do with her!! She knows which things are okay, and which things aren't at our house (and by 'knows' I mean has been previously told, warned, disciplined, etc.) Well, now she's doing the strangest thing. She will do something she's not supposed to do, and them come and say 'excuse me mom, but I _____ (hit my sister/brother/friend, colored on the wall, stuck my apple in the fan, etc. etc. etc.) WHAT DO I EVEN DO WITH THAT?! I know a lot of people will say she's just looking for attention, but I GIVE her attention! We do a lot during the days -- reading, coloring ,park time, one on one time... I have NO idea what to do. The worst part is, I can't find any kind of discipline action that has any affect on her! No favorite toys taken away, time out doesn't bother her, early bedtime results in a nasty tantrum, but the same thing happens the next day. I'm about to pull my hair out! Ideas? PLEASE?!

No Sex Drive

Let's make this plain and simple. I have no sex drive. Sex is rarely if EVER on my mind. Now don't get me wrong, I still have sex with my husband because I know that's the glue in our relationship. But past that I wonder if there's something wrong with me. All these people talk about sex and how great it is... what's the deal? Any ideas on how I can change that? I would love if that was the top thing on my list because it would probably make my marriage even better than it is (and it's just fine mind you!) Ideas, anyone?

Maternity Pictures

What do you think of maternity pictures? I'm pregnant and have considered getting them, but I'm not sure if it's weird or not. I mean, it's not like I'm going to hang a big pregnant picture of myself up in my house, you know? But this is my last pregnancy and I do think that it would be nice to have them as kind of a keepsake. I also worry that it looks a little vain to go get a photoshoot of myself. So, what do you think? Is it vain? Weird? Cool? Opinions please!

Potty training

I know there was a post on this topic recently but I didnt get what I need from reading it. First off to the person with the ebook, I have tried to find it online and cant. Can I get a copy sent to me? Also My child is two and really ready I just need to know the quickest, least hassle way to train. I am stuck at home for the next week and a half so it the perfect time to potty train.

Any and advice and tips are appreciated!!!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

For those of you who have seen the movie, what did you think?

I went to the midnight premier and I must say...as a GIGANTIC fan of the books, I was disappointed.
Out of all 6 movies, I feel like it followed the book the least, it left out a LOT of extremely important stuff and the entire thing felt rushed and choppy. I left the theater thinking: "how on earth can they make The Deathly Hallows movie(s) make sense after this?"

Any other thoughts?

SLC Area Photographers

I think a question like this was asked in the past, but I can't seem to find it.

I'm looking for a fairly inexpensive (around or under $100) photographer to take pictures of my baby.

I need someone in the Salt Lake Valley.

Thanks for any info!

Inactive family members

My whole family is LDS, except for my oldest brother. He became inactive years ago and doesn't want anything to do with the church. When asked, he just says that the church is fine where it is, and he's fine where he is. I think my mom asked him about it also, and he told her he just didn't believe in it.

I'll admit that I wasn't the best member I could be a few years ago (difficult teenage years), but I realized the truth of the gospel and am now married and working towards going to the temple with my husband. As I grow older, I really want to see my whole family together again in church, the way it used to be.

My question is, how do those of you who are LDS deal with your inactive family members (if you have any)? I hope he'll come back to the faith, but his longtime girlfriend is non-LDS and (I suspect) doesn't want anything to do with the church either (they live together). What can I do to help encourage him back? Suggestions?

Throwing food

My daughter is 14 months old, and she has started throwing and/or dropping food. I know this is normal behavior, but I would like to keep it in check. I asked my mom how long this phase usually lasts, and she said "As long as you let it."

At first my husband and I would pick the piece of food up and place it immediately into my daughter's mouth, but she keeps her lips closed pretty tightly if she doesn't want something.

What kind of things have worked for you to keep this behavior from escalating? Do you force the food back on the child? Do you take all their food away from them for a few minutes? Do you flick their hand? Do you ignore the action altogether?

How long has it generally lasted?

Movement

I am in my eighth month of my first pregnancy. I have been a little paranoid because I had a few early miscarriages before. So I have been really good about "counting kicks" and movement. My question is, have some of you noticed a huge increase in movement during this time? Sometimes I'm on the verge of panic because I get hardly any movement and other times I can't get him to settle down, like he's having a party in there. Is this normal? I asked my dr and he just gave me a general answer, "Every pregnancy is different" but I wondered what your experiences were.

3 Column Template

I'm so frustrated. I'm been trying to do a 3 column template on my blog but I just can't get it right. I've followed the instructions from a few websites with no luck. Does anyone have anything ideas that can help me?

What is going on?

I am two weeks late to start my period. All the pregnancy tests come out negative. I am always like clock work and can usually nail it down to the hour when I start. Is there something else that could be wrong? Nothing out of the normal has happened that would cause stress or anything in the last month.
Thanks!

Spacing

To those of you who are mothers:

How far apart are your children?

What do you like about their age difference?

What challenges did you face with their age difference?

I think there are plus's and minus's to both having your children close in age ( for example they play together well, they're buddies, you're still in "babymode") And further apart in age (the older one can help, you get your body back to normal before having another one, etc.)

I just can't really decide how far to space my child, and my next one. What do you think?

Giant Pictures

I have noticed on some blogs that I have seen lately that people have really big pictures on their posts and I am wondering how they got them that big. I always upload mine on the large setting, but they don't come out as big as I have seen. If anybody knows what I am talking about and knows how it is done will you please let me know. THANKS!!

Humor

What funny/entertaining blogs do you read? I'm looking for some good ones that you may enjoy. Even inspirational blogs...
My favorites are themeanestmom.blogspot and thebloggess.com (the latter one is not for the faint of heart.)

P.S. I already know about Seriously so blessed. Thanks.

Pregnant or Not?

I have had an IUD for the last 2 1/1 years. I had it taken out June 1st of this year so my husband and I could try for another baby. I bled for about 2 weeks after I had it taken out (which the doctor said was normal). I haven't had a period or bled at all since then. Its now been a month and a half. I've taken pregnancy tests and they always come out negative. My question is: Shouldn't I either have a period or have a positive pregnancy test by now? Its a bit frustrating either way right now.

What do you think I should do? Call my doctor and ask? Wait it out and see? ( I don't really have the patience for that)

Thanks!

Bottle Blonde

I've been getting my hair colored professionally for about 6 years, I think. I'm a blonde at heart and can't bear to go back to my brownish color. I'm serious about this, I go to a "blonde specialist". However, as you all know, going to the salon can get a bit pricey. I have to get my roots touched up every 6 weeks and it usually costs a little over $100 when its all said and done. Needless to say in this economy, it is something I may have to give up!

BUT - I will not go down easily. I want to know from any hairstylists out there if there are any over the counter blonde hair coloring kit that will get even close to my perfect-beautiful-salon-blonde. I've never had a good experience with the color bought from drug stores, it just doesn't look right. But maybe there's one I haven't tried that's actually decent.

Please help a sister out. Thanks in advance!

What To Do?!

I am in need of some advice, so here's my story. My sister and I have been planning a trip to a semi local theme park. Then along the way, I decided that I should invited my husband, being the kind wife I am. J/K. Anyways so it was going to be my sister and her little girl and my family. Then comes along my mom, she wanted to go, so I said that would be okay. Not thinking that it would be a problem. Well then of course she wants to bring her husband, again okay, I really figured if she was coming then he was. Just today, she took it upon herself to invite my younger sister and husband and my brother to come. When I told my husband he got really upset and mad saying "since when did this become her trip to plan and invite people to come." He told me that now he doesn't want to go and the rest of the family can go by themselves. This was never really just "our" family trip, being as it started with my sister and I planning it. I think that everyone wants to go, that is fine, really we don't need to spend all day together at the park and hang out. So it should be all good, right?

Here is my dilemma, I don't want to punish my kids and not go because my husband is mad that my mom is taking over. Also I am not one to confront people, especially my mom. So what do I do? Do I talk to my mom and ask her not to plan or invite anyone else? I really can't invite my other siblings, can I? Or do I just try to talk my husband into being okay with the way that it is and go and be happy? I really just don't know what to do! HELP!

Dinner Ideas

I need ideas for dinner...I'm trying to make a menu, if you have yummy ideas or recipes please let me know. Sunday dinner gets boring having the same roast and potatoes. Thanks! Also if you have a fun recipe blog or know of one, link it! Thanks!
Other fun ideas would be good recipes on a tight budget! What do you spend on grocery's?
We budget $150 for our family of three. It seems too tight sometimes, I even grocery shop at Wal mart to save money, and try to coupon!

HCG Diet & Pregnancy Tests

I did the HCG diet about 4-5 weeks ago. And I was wondering if anyone knows how long it stays in your system for? Because I know when you are on it, if you take a pregnancy test it will say positive. But I really think I am pregnant, and the pregnancy test said positive but I don't know if it is because of the HCG still?? If anyone knows, please help me! :)

"Trying"

We are trying to get pregnant with our 2nd child. It is taking longer than it did with the first. Was this the case with anyone else? I'd love to hear encouragement!

Also, after we have sex, all the "stuff" practically gushes out of me, even if I lay there for a long time afterwards. It just worries me that the "stuff" isn't getting up far enough, because I don't remember that happening when we were trying with our first. What do you think?

What Would You Do?

This is going to sound really weird but two nights ago I went outside to water my yard and I saw the next door neighbor's son who is 7 playing with their dog. Now this doesn't stike me as odd but the next part does. I watch the child stick his finger up the dog's vagina and laugh like crazy. I found this to be super disturbing so I went inside. However it was like a bad accident and I had to go to the window and look at what was going on. At this point the child had gotten a shovel from the sand box and was now probing the dog's vagina with the handle. My question is what should I do? Call animal services? Tell his parents? Talk to the little boy directly? It just seems very disturbing to me. I mean he has a baby sister at home and god only knows what he does to her!

Getting Kids to Eat Their Dinner

I have young children but recently got custody of an older child. This is kind of new to me.

What do you do when they say they hate the food that you cooked? The food I cook is very kid friendly. Does anyone have some good ideas? I want real life answers not from the so called "experts". That's why I'm asking you guys. I love to hear your opinions. Thanks.

P.S. What do you say when they are bored?

Toothfairy!

Okay so my 6 year old son lost his first tooth tonight! This is my oldest and first time acting as "Toothfairy"

baby refusing breast for the 4th time

My baby is going to be 4 months in 2 days and this is the 4th time he is refusing the breast. Every time it lasts about less then a week but this time its getting longer. I have tried everything, changing positions, trying before he gets too hungry, get the milk flowing before, even tried giving milk and switching to the breast while his eyes are closed but he always catches on and starts crying. I have had a mastitis and have a problem with too much milk. I have been using a nipple shield since the beginning but I still have a fast letdown and breastfeeding lying on my back isn't working anymore. Does anyone have any solutions?"

retroactive child support in Oregon?

I am in the unfortunate process of applying for child support from my someday-to-be-ex husband. My child and I are in another state with my family and he is in Oregon. My state doesn't do retroactive child support, but they are requesting it as some states do. So, does anyone know, does Oregon do retroactive child support? I'm having no luck finding answers on the internet and don't have long distance service to call Oregon so ask. I'm really hoping so, as state-to-state child support enforcement can take up to a year! Thanks for your help.

decorating

Does anyone have any DIY decorating tips? I am redecorating my house and I love doing crafty things. Do you have any fun ideas or even websites for just decorating in general, it doesnt have to be DIY.
Thanks
