So what is the deal with steel-cut oatmeal? Is it better for you than quick oats? I keep hearing about it but, I don't know what all the hype is. Thanks for your help.
I don't know if steel cut oatmeal is more healthy but it is much more delicious. It has a nutty flavor. But the texture is what sells me. No more mushy oatmeal, steel cut actually has texture. Seriously, once you try it, you'll never go back.
I think it has a different texture and heartier flavor. I don't know if its steel cut or not, but we LOVE Coaches Oats from Costco. Its sooo good! Its not instant, so you do have to boil it for 3 minutes or so, but the flavor is so great and its not just MUSH like Quaker Oats. Its called Coaches Oats because it was developed by a coach for his team or something. Anyways, that is our fave. My husband is a bodybuilder and he likes to have his with a spoonful of peanut butter, tiny bit of honey and cinnamon. I tried it and its REALLY good that way!
